Who is responsible for your information?
Dash Claims Ltd, trading as Dash Claims, is responsible for personal information it receives through enquiries to this website. Company number SC813823. Contact us at info@dashclaims.co.uk, 0300 304 6300 or G15 APL Centre, Stevenston Industrial Estate, Stevenston, KA20 3LR.
What information do we collect?
When you contact us, we receive the details you choose to send: your name, telephone number, email address, address or postcode, vehicle details, accident date, damage description and message. Only your name, phone number and brief description are required by the initial enquiry form. Please do not include medical records, bank details, identity documents or other sensitive documents in the initial form.
Serving and protecting the website can also involve technical information such as IP addresses, request times, requested pages and browser information in hosting or security logs.
How the enquiry form works
The form prepares a message in your browser. It does not automatically send your entries to Dash Claims or save them in a website database. Choosing WhatsApp or email opens that service with your message so you can review it and decide whether to send. The chosen service receives information when you open it, including any message included in the link. Once you send the message, Dash Claims receives it to handle your enquiry.
WhatsApp and your email provider process information under their own terms. You can instead telephone us if you do not wish to use these services. Read WhatsApp’s privacy policy.
Why we use information and our lawful bases
- To respond to your request, discuss eligibility and take steps you ask for before arranging a service: steps before entering a contract, where applicable.
- To manage general enquiries, follow up requests, maintain necessary correspondence and protect our website and business: our legitimate interests in providing an effective, secure service, balanced against your rights.
- To meet applicable legal duties: compliance with a legal obligation.
- If we request consent for a separate optional purpose, we explain that purpose and you may withdraw that consent.
Submitting an enquiry is not agreement to receive unrelated marketing. If a claim proceeds, we provide information appropriate to the claim and any additional processing, including any applicable conditions for health information, before requesting sensitive claim documents.
Who may receive information?
Access is limited to people who need information for their role. This may include our enquiry team and suppliers providing hosting, security, email or communications services. Where necessary to progress a claim you ask us to handle, relevant information may be shared with insurers, repairers, vehicle hire or recovery providers, engineers and legal representatives. We explain the relevant arrangements as your claim progresses. Some recipients act as independent controllers with their own privacy notices.
International processing
Communications and technology providers may process information outside the UK. The location and protections depend on the provider and service. Contact us for details of any international transfers we arrange and the applicable safeguards. Third-party services you choose to open also explain their processing in their own privacy notices.
How long do we keep information?
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, carry out necessary follow-up and maintain a record of the enquiry. We then delete or anonymise information unless it is needed for an ongoing claim, complaint, applicable legal duty or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. The period depends on the enquiry’s outcome, the records involved and applicable legal requirements. Contact us for the retention criteria applicable to your records.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Some rights have exceptions.
Contact info@dashclaims.co.uk to exercise a right or raise a concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), telephone 0303 123 1113.
