NON-FAULT CLAIMS · 31 OCTOBER 2026

Not your fault?
NEVER pay an excess through Dash Claims.

Why paying an excess through your own insurance policy is different from a non-fault claim managed by Dash Claims.

You will NEVER pay an excess for a non-fault claim managed through Dash Claims. You should not have to find the money for a policy excess when we are managing your accepted non-fault accident claim directly against the at-fault insurer.

What does AXA’s official article say?

AXA’s Understanding Non-Fault Claims guide asks whether drivers need to pay an excess when an accident was not their fault. Its answer begins: Usually, yes.

The guide explains that an excess is likely to be payable even when the driver is not at fault, although it may sometimes be waived. It also says the excess will be returned if the insurer decides the accident was not the customer’s fault.

That is an important distinction: paying an excess first and getting it back later is different from having no excess to pay to Dash Claims in the first place.

The Dash Claims promise: no excess to pay

With a non-fault claim managed through Dash Claims, we do not charge you an excess. We deal directly with the at-fault insurer and charge the accident-related costs to them.

Our service is an independent accident management route. We are not making a claim for your repairs under your own comprehensive policy, so we do not collect your policy excess.

This promise applies to non-fault claims accepted and managed by Dash Claims. If you have already paid an excess to your insurer or another provider, that is a separate payment: tell our team so we can discuss recovery of eligible losses.

One call for replacement transport and repairs

A car accident can disrupt your work, family commitments and everyday travel. Our team brings the practical steps together:

  • No excess payable to Dash Claims
  • Accident-related costs charged to the at-fault insurer
  • Suitable replacement vehicle arrangements
  • Recovery and storage where required
  • Engineer assessment and repair management
  • Personal support from one claims team

We support private drivers, driving instructors and business fleets. Our bodyshop partner network covers every UK town, with our claims team based in Ayrshire. We explain the terms of any replacement vehicle or repair agreement before you proceed.

Already insured with AXA or another insurer?

You can still contact Dash Claims to ask about independent support after a non-fault accident. We review the circumstances and explain whether we can accept your claim. Tell us about any repairs, hire vehicles or settlements already arranged so we can avoid duplication.

Choosing Dash Claims to manage a claim is separate from complying with any accident notification requirements in your insurance policy.
